SUSTAINABILITY: GREEN BUILDINGS
Help the environment. Help yourself.
Our buildings are all different colors, but they’re all built to be green, that is, have a minimal impact on the environment. If it sounds utopian, you’re right – but for more reasons than you think. Because while being environmental is certainly good for the air, water and ground, it’s also good for people and their bank accounts. How? Read on:
- We install energy efficient kitchen appliances, water heaters and boilers – less coal gets burned to make electricity, making the air cleaner. (And your utility bills are lower.)
- We rely heavily on compact fluorescent lighting. Again, using less coal. (Again, less money.)
- Instead of black roofs, which absorb heat, we install white roofs. (So you stay cooler in the summer and run the air conditioner less, yes, saving money.)
- We use bamboo for floors, a rapidly renewable resource that results in fewer oak trees being cut down.
- We use low-VOC paint which releases fewer toxins into the air. (Resulting in cleaner air and perhaps better health.)
These are a few of the things we do – all with the idea that, if we can use less energy, people will have more money for other things. Plus, everything will be cleaner. Discover more great green ideas you can use right now.
