Floors ::
Living Room: Bellawood Bamboo Flooring
Rapidly renewable resource produced in mills that procure lumber from suppliers who practice sustainable forest practices.
Bathroom: Crossville: Geostone Ecocycle Tile
Glazed porcelain, 100% reclaimed, unfired, raw waste material. Crossville uses a dust collection and recycling process to reclaim and reuse most of the unfired raw waste material generated during manufacturing.
Carpet: Mohawk Coastal Charm, 100% PET Polyester
Because plastic beverage bottles are made with top quality PET (polyethylene terephthalate) resins, they can be sorted, ground into fine chips, and then cleaned. These chips are then melted and extruded into fiber and spun into carpet yarn.
Desktop and transoms ::
We use a material called 3-form. It’s eco-resin engineered to incorporate at least 40% post-industrial re-grind content, and it is also easily recycled. Plus, it’s really cool.
Blinds ::
These are the best – Hunter Douglas. Our composite wood blinds have a wood-grain finish, but they’re easier to care for and use far less tree fiber. And they’re gorgeous.
Paint ::
Ours is Low VOC, which means fewer toxins are released into the air. It’s better for you and the environment.
Lighting ::
Our amazing lighting package includes a great deal of energy efficient Compact Fluorescent bulbs and fixtures – you’ll change bulbs far less often and save money.
Doors ::
That’s not wood, it’s Wheatsheet. It’s recycled wheat straw – rapidly renewable and really beautiful too.
Roof ::
Most every building roof is black – which absorbs heat during the summer – ours is white to reflect heat and keep our buildings cooler. It’s made by Duro-Last and has an Energy Star rating – another money saver for you.
Appliances ::
Stainless Maytag Energy Star appliances all the way around – electric range, self-venting microwave, dishwasher and 15 cubic foot refrigerator.
Cabinets ::
They’re maple, with a beautiful sugar beet stain.
Boiler ::
Munchkin high efficiency boilers are 92% efficient.
Tech Niche ::
Each two-bedroom home at Medina includes a really handy tech niche for your computer or home entertainment system.
Controlled Access ::
Residents have controlled access to the building through the front gate and the back parking area.
Laundry Room ::
Medina includes a spacious laundry room area with two washers and two dryers. No need to bring quarters – at your house, they’re on the house.
Exercise Equipment ::
Treadmill and exercise bike, right there near the laundry area – oh and a TV too for working out and watching.
